Dow Thailand Continues Grooming Youth’s Safety Awareness
RAYONG - June 21, 2017 -
Dow Thailand Group led by Sakarin Ackkawootwanit, EHS Regulatory Affairs Leader, together with more than 40 Dow volunteers organized the “Safety School” activity under the “Neighbor Care” project at Ban Klong Bang Pai School, Ban Chang district, Rayong province. The volunteers educated students about environment, health and safety in daily life while raising their awareness about safety at home and school and care for the environment through learning-by-doing activities, such as the school safety inspection, the introduction to first aid, the appropriate waste management according to 3R principle, and the proper use of fire extinguishers. In addition, the volunteers repaired the school’s drinking water machine, and trained students how to produce biological fertilizer for utilization within the school. The event was presided over by Tassanai Tongkod, Mayor of Sumnaktorn Sub-district Administrative Organization. Ban Klong Bang Pai School is the 22nd Safety School that Dow Thailand Group has been continuously conducted the project which benefits more than 1,000 students since 2008.
The Safety School is the 20th activity of the “Neighbor Care” project which Dow Thailand Group has encouraged its employees to initiate the activities which can help improve the better life quality of people in Rayong. Throughout 4 years of the project implementation, more than 770 Dow volunteers have been participating in a series of activities. In 2017, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary, Dow volunteers are unremittingly committed to engagement for community success under “Dow Thailand’s Golden Jubilee: Following King Bhumibol’s Footprints” theme. This reflects the commitment of Dow around the globe to 2025 Sustainability Goals by leveraging the potentials of employees to create economic and social values that will lead to positive changes in the world.
