Dow Thailand Hosts EF Workshop to Elevate Youth’s Success & Happiness in Rayong

Dow Thailand Group led by Poranee Kongamornpinyo, Public Affairs Director, in collaboration with Rayong Executive Functions (EF) Partnership Network led by Dr. Thawatchai Uipanich, Deputy Director of Regional Education Office No.9, and Teerasak Poolklai, Director of Office of the Narcotics Control Board Section 2, hosted the 2017 EF workshop under DOW - EF Development for Successful Youth & Rayong Happiness project at Siamese Hotel Pattaya for 120 Change Agents who will further proactively develop and disseminate EF knowledge in communities. Change Agents included the teachers of child development centers, public health officers, village health volunteers and community people in Rayong. The workshop aims to expand the EF network who helps instill EF as a basis for children development and upbringing in Rayong, develop EF activity-based learning to strengthen the communities, and efficiently drive the project further. So far, there are 240 Change Agents in Rayong province.
DOW-EF Development for Successful Youth & Rayong Happiness was initiated in 2016 in Ban Chang and Map Ta Phut by forming ‘Change Agents’, then later developed to be ‘EF Leaders’ who play a crucial role in developing additional change agents in Rayong City Municipality, Tabma Municipality, and Noen Phra Municipality in 2017. All Change Agents have conducted more than 60 EF activities and benefited more than 200,000 people in Rayong. Trough integrated and sustainable collaboration, the project will help enhance the youth’s potentials, strengthen the communities, and position Rayong as a pilot city of happiness.

A human brain is categorized by function into 3 main parts. EF is a mental process in the frontal part of the brain that controls cognitive, analyzing, inhibiting, and emotional skills. This part of the brain is best developed at the age of 0-6 years old.
