Dow Thailand Underpins Profession in Communities
RAYONG - June 19, 2017 -
Dow Thailand Group led by Songpol Pringprayong, Production Leader of Synthetic Latex Emulsion Plant, Acrylic Emulsion Plant, and Poly-Acrylic Acid Plant, together with more than 80 volunteers from Dow and the community committee participated in the “Mushroom Nursery for Communities” activity under the “Neighbor Care” project in Mapchalood, Rayong province. The volunteers handed over 2 mushroom nurseries to Jirapa Mahathep, Mapchalood Community Leader, and Jamnong Joytongmoon, Mapchalood-Chakklang Community Leader. In this event, Paijit Kesangam, Director of Social Welfare Division of Map Ta Phut Municipality, also joined the activity.
The Mushroom Nursery for Communities is the 19th activity of the “Neighbor Care” project which Dow Thailand Group has encouraged its employees to initiate the activities which can help improve the better life quality of people in Rayong. In this activity, Dow Thailand along with the community leaders appointed 15 community members as the working committee to maintain the mushroom nurseries, equipped them with the knowledge and best practice, built 2 mushroom nurseries with the automatic watering system, and handed over to the community leaders as a new learning center. These mushroom nurseries are expected to sustainably generate income for people in the communities.
Throughout 4 years of the project implementation, more than 730 Dow volunteers have been participating in a series of activities. In 2017, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary, Dow volunteers are unremittingly committed to engagement for community success under “Dow Thailand’s Golden Jubilee: Following King Bhumibol’s Footprints” theme. This reflects the commitment of Dow around the globe to 2025 Sustainability Goals by leveraging the potentials of employees to create economic and social values that will lead to positive changes in the world.
