Rayong Province and Dow Thailand Synergize 17 Agencies under “Rayong EF Partnership Network” to Elevate Youth’s Success
Rayong - March 01, 2017 - Rayong Province and Dow Thailand Group joined forces with other 17 agencies under “Rayong EF Partnership Network” in signing a memorandum of understanding of DOW - EF Development for Successful Youth & Rayong Happiness with the aim to instill EF (Executive Functions of the brain) as a basis for children development and upbringing. Through integrated and sustainable collaboration, the project will help enhance the youth’s potentials, strengthen the communities, and position Rayong as a pilot city of happiness.
The MOU signing ceremony marks a great collaboration of the province. 19 agencies include (1) Rayong Province, (2) Office of the Narcotics Control Board Section 2, (3) Rayong Provincial Social Development and Human Security Office, (4) Rayong Provincial Health Office, (5) Primary Educational Service Area Office 1, (6) Rayong Red Cross Chapter, (7) Women’s Empowerment Committee, (8) Muang Rayong District, (9) Ban Chang District, (10) Map Ta Phut Town Municipality, (11) Ban Chang Town Municipality, (12) Ban Chang Sub-district Municipality, (13) Phala Sub-district Municipality, (14) Sam Nak Thon Sub-district Municipality, (15) Noen Phra Sub-district Municipality, (16) Thapma Sub-district Municipality, (17) Sam Nak Thon Sub-district Administrative Organization, (18) Thailand EF Partnership, and (19) Dow Thailand Group as a facilitator of all partners driving the project to success.

Rayong province is a pilot city for EF development and I hope that this partnership will help enhance our province and especially groom Rayong children who are the new generation to become the valuable driving force of our nation.”

In 2017, DOW - EF Development for Successful Youth & Rayong Happiness will encompass last year’s work in forming 120 Change Agents in Ban Chang and Map Ta Phut. The project has conducted more than 34 activities and benefited more than 3,500 people. In 2017, the project will continue to develop and disseminate EF knowledge in Rayong province, support an integrated partnership network, promote Change Agent to EF Leader, develop EF activity-based learning to strengthen the communities, especially in Ban Chang and Map Ta Phut, and extend EF activities to Rayong metropolitan area, and efficiently drive the project further.

A human brain is categorized by function into 3 main parts. EF is a mental process in the frontal part of the brain that controls cognitive, analyzing, inhibiting, and emotional skills. This part of the brain is best developed at the age of 0-6 years old. It is a set of skills that governs IQ and EQ and is classified into three groups which are Basic Skills, Self-directing Skills, and Practice Skills. These skills enable children to learn, solve problems, socialize, and lead a happy and successful life.
