Dow receives Thailand’s most prestigious industry award in the Circular Economy category

BANGKOK – 20 December 2021 –Dow Thailand has received the Prime Minister’s Industry Award in the Circular Economy category for its excellent operation at the Polyethylene plant in Map Ta Phut site. The Prime Minister’s Industry Award is considered the most prestigious award to recognize private organizations with excellent performance and responsibility to society and the environment. Circular Economy is the newest category that was only introduced this year.

The Polyethylene plant has demonstrated good examples in applying the Circular Economy principle in operation. For instance, applying statistical tools to control product quality reduces 2.5% of raw material use per year, recycling water to use in the plant, utilizing the production and office waste, and collaborating with stakeholders to promote a circular economy.
The Prime Minister’s Industry Award has 15 categories. This year, 332 companies had applied, and only 63 were awarded. Dow is one of the eight companies that received the Circular Economy category award.
