RAYONG – 1 February 2022 - Dow Thailand Group donated two emergency ambulances with international standard life support equipment valued at 4,200,000 baht to Memorial Hospital Sirindhorn and Ban Chang Hospital. Marking the 125th anniversary of the company, the ambulances will be used to support operations during COVID-19 and promote public health missions in the area as part of the project ‘Dow support Thailand to fight against COVID-19’.
Mr. Chatchai Luanpolcharoenchai, President of Dow Thailand, said, “We value the improvement of community safety and well-being, so we continue to provide ongoing assistance through social activities. On the occasion of the company's 125th anniversary, we are aware of the increasing need at hospitals for emergency vehicles, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Both vehicles were procured and equipped with advanced life-saving medical equipment to address patient care in the area more effectively."
Dr. Satit Pitutecha, Deputy Minister of Public Health, added, “During the pandemic, I have seen the kindness of Thai people—who have never abandoned one another. There is continuous support and help through donating money, items, equipment, and medical supplies. This boosts the morale of health care personnel in performing their duties to the best of their abilities. Ambulances are crucial in transferring patients to hospitals and having appropriate treatment systems when timeliness is needed. This support from Dow will enhance efficiency and raise the quality of our operations to international standards.”
Mr. Channa Iamsaeng, Rayong Governor, said, “In addition to industrial development, we aim to make Rayong a city with a high quality of life and economic progress. On behalf of Rayong residents, I would like to thank Dow for caring about the safety and health of people in the community during this tough situation. Moreover, I appreciate their kindness in donating emergency ambulances to beneficial use in emergencies, such as helping patients or addressing accidents with 24-hour support. Most importantly, this will help reduce potential loss of life and be of great benefit to the community.”
The emergency ambulances are equipped with all necessary medical supplies and with a full range of advanced lifesaving tools, such as emergency lights and sirens; medical equipment; automatic defibrillators; automatic ventilators; and foldable patient transport chairs; as well as beds for patients with wheelchairs that are durable at the level of global standards. These can be used for pre-hospital resuscitation in accidents as well as being used to transport patients during emergencies.
In 2011, Dow Group Thailand donated two emergency ambulances with life-saving equipment to Ban Chang Hospital, which have been used to assist patients and protect people's well-being in Ban Chang district to the present. Supporting the donation of two more emergency ambulances will help the hospitals provide more comprehensive and efficient services for patients in Rayong and nearby provinces.
