Dow Enhances Chemical Engineering Professions for 11 Consecutive Years

Rayong - January 31, 2018 - V-ChEPCDow Thailand Group, led by Nattapong Jirawattanaworakul (far left), Site Public Affairs Manager, presented a 500,000-baht scholarship to Pracha Rittipon (far right), Director of Maptaphut Technical College. Presided over by General Surachet Chaiwong (2nd from left), Deputy Minister of Education, and Dr. Siri Jirapongphan (2nd from right), Minister of Energy, the event was held at Maptaphut Technical College in Rayong province. The funding was granted to support the Vocational Chemical Engineering Practice College (V-ChEPC)’s petrochemical engineering program development project in phase 4 (2017-2019). Since 2008, Dow Thailand Group has provided over 9 million baht to support the program.

The Vocational Chemical Engineering Practice College (V-ChEPC) is the cooperation between the Vocational Education Commission, the Petrochemical Industry Club, and the Federation of Thai Industries to promote the project-based learning through learning-by-doing concept under the supervision of the expert and skillful employees in leading petrochemicals companies as well as to prepare the potential workforce for the industry. Throughout 11 years, Dow Thailand Group has provided trainings and knowledge to more than 40 students during their internship. Out of this number, there are 16 graduates working at Dow’s plants in Rayong province so far.
