Dow Thailand together with IEAT and Manufacturers Remove over 6,500 Kg of Trash in Rayong as Part of World’s Largest Single-Day Beach Cleanup

RAYONG - September 16, 2017 - Dow Thailand Group led by Phayoongsak Pisanpattanakul, Polymer Manufacturing Director and Production Leader of Polyethylene Plant, rallied around 900 volunteers in Ocean Conservancy’s 15th International Coastal Cleanup presided over by Surasak Charoensirichote, Rayong Governor, to stem the tide against marine litter. A total of 2,677 volunteers from 28 organizations in Map Ta Phut and Ban Chang Industrial Estates, and educational institutions attended the cleanup activity on Namrin-Payoon Beach and Mae Rumphueng Beach, totaling 12.6 kilometers to pick up trash along the coastal areas which are major tourist attractions in Rayong Province, raising awareness of coastal conservation and paying tribute to King Bhumibol Adulyadej. For half day with full voluntary support, over 50,000 pieces of trash were collected on the beach with over 6,500 kilograms weight. This is one of our activities reflecting Dow’s commitment on 2025 Sustainability Goals to engage employees to create economic and social values that will lead to positive changes in the world.
