August 21, 2024 – Bangkok- Dow (NYSE: Dow) and Makita Manufacturing (Thailand) Co., Ltd, a world-renowned power tool brand in Thailand, have announced the adoption of plastic cling film for product logistics incorporating Post-Consumer-Recycled resin (PCR). In collaboration with MMP, Thailand's leading packaging film manufacturer, The new film reports quality comparable to those made of virgin plastics while diverting plastic waste from landfills by over 5 tons per year. Makita Manufacturing’s sustainability commitment positions Thailand as a potential model for expanding this innovative film to other countries.
The film incorporates up to 30% post-consumer recycled resin yet maintains the clarity and performance of traditional cling film, including exceptional strength, toughness, and flexibility. Ideal for wrapping industrial crates for transportation both manual and machine-based, the solutions aim to reduce plastic waste by over 5 tons per year and is fully recyclable.

Makita Manufacturing (Thailand) Co., Ltd. began using Dow's recycled plastic film for wrapping Makita Thailand’s products destined for domestic and export shipments in May 2024.
