Thai government certifies Dow's low carbon products

BANGKOK - 20 June 2022 - Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO), a government entity which manages and expedites the development of greenhouse gas reduction, has recently certified 5 LLDPE products manufactured at the Thai joint venture plants in Map Ta Phut, Rayong province, for their low carbon quality to help reduce GHG emission. The certified products successfully exceed TGO’s GHG emission reduction criteria (>2% from the base year) and also have lower carbon footprint than typical products in the same category in Thailand.

“The Carbon Footprint of Products” and “Carbon Footprint Reduction” certificates that Dow Thailand has received considers the GHG emitted from the resource acquisition process to the end of production. The certified LLDPE portfolios include DOWLEX2047G, ELITE 5220G, ELITE5400G, ELITE 5401G, and ELITE 5500G.

In addition, the Pollution Control Department has registered our 5 certified products into its database system of environmentally friendly products and services, a reliable online source to help the public search for sustainable materials. More products from the Map Ta Phut operations are in the pipeline to receive a GHG emission reduction certificate. These low-carbon products aim to help our customers reduce their emissions and address Dow’s sustainability targets.
